जन्माष्टमी क्यों मनाई जाती है (Why is Janmashtami celebrated?)
भगवान श्रीकृष्ण के जन्मोत्सव को पूरे देश में बड़े ही धूम-धाम के साथ कृष्ण जन्माष्टमी पर्व के रूप में मनाया जाता है।
हिंदू धर्म की मान्यताओं के अनुसार इस दिन व्रत रखने और भगवान की विशेष पूजा अर्चना करने से सारी मनोकामनाएं पूरी होती हैं। संतान प्राप्ति,आयु और समृद्धि के लिए जन्माष्टमी पर्व का विशेष महत्व है।
इस साल 30 अगस्त के दिन जन्माष्टमी का त्योहार मनाया जाएगा।
पौराणिक मान्यताओं के अनुसार भगवान श्रीकृष्ण का जन्म मध्य रात्रि के समय कारागार में हुआ था।
The birth anniversary of Lord Shri Krishna is celebrated as Krishna Janmashtami festival with great pomp all over the country.
According to the beliefs of Hindu religion, all the wishes are fulfilled observing a fast on this day and offering special worship to God. Janmashtami festival has special significance for the attainment of children, age and prosperity.
This year Janmashtami will be celebrated on 30th August.
According to mythological beliefs, Lord Krishna was born in the prison at midnight.
कृष्ण जन्माष्टमी का इतिहास
सदियों से भारत में कृष्ण जन्माष्टमी का त्योहार बड़े ही श्रृद्धा भाव के साथ मनाया जाता है। मान्यताओं के अनुसार भाई कंस के अत्याचार सहते हुए कारागार में बंद माता देवकी की आठवीं संतान के रूप में भाद्रपद के कृष्ण पक्ष की अष्टमी तिथि को श्रीकृष्ण का जन्म हुआ था। भगवान ने पृथ्वी को कंस के आतंक से मुक्त कारने के लिए अवतार लिया था। इसी मान्यता के अनुसार हर साल भाद्रपद के कृष्ण पक्ष की अष्टमी को कृष्ण जन्माष्टमी का पर्व मनाया जाता है।
History of Krishna Janmashtami
For centuries, the festival of Krishna Janmashtami is celebrated with great reverence in India. According to the beliefs, Shri Krishna was born on the eighth day of Krishna Paksha of Bhadrapada as the eighth child of Mother Devaki, who was imprisoned in the prison after suffering the atrocities of brother Kansa. The Lord had incarnated to free the earth from the terror of Kansa. According to this belief, the festival of Krishna Janmashtami is celebrated every year on the Ashtami of Krishna Paksha of Bhadrapada.
व्रत-पूजन कैसे करें
1.इस दिन को कृष्ण जन्माष्टमी अथवा जन्माष्टमी के रूप में मनाते हैं। इस दिन स्त्री-पुरुष रात्रि बारह बजे तक व्रत रखते हैं। इस दिन मंदिरों में झांंकियांं सजाई जाती हैं और भगवान कृष्ण को झूला झुलाया जाता है।
2. उपवास की पूर्व रात्रि को हल्का भोजन करें और ब्रह्मचर्य का पालन करें।
3. उपवास के दिन प्रातःकाल स्नानादि नित्यकर्मों से निवृत्त हो जाएंं।
पश्चात सूर्य, सोम, यम, काल, संधि, भूत, पवन, दिक्पति, भूमि, आकाश, खेचर, अमर और ब्रह्मादि को नमस्कार कर पूर्व या उत्तर मुख बैठें।
4. इसके बाद जल, फल, कुश और गंध लेकर संकल्प करें-
ममखिलपापप्रशमनपूर्वक सर्वाभीष्ट सिद्धये
श्रीकृष्ण जन्माष्टमी व्रतमहं करिष्ये॥
5. अब मध्याह्न के समय काले तिलों के जल से स्नान कर देवकीजी के लिए 'सूतिकागृह' नियत करें।
6. तत्पश्चात भगवान श्रीकृष्ण की मूर्ति या चित्र स्थापित करें।
मूर्ति में बालक श्रीकृष्ण को स्तनपान कराती हुई देवकी हों और लक्ष्मीजी उनके चरण स्पर्श किए हों अथवा ऐसे भाव हो।
8. इसके बाद विधि-विधान से पूजन करें।
पूजन में देवकी, वसुदेव, बलदेव, नंद, यशोदा और लक्ष्मी इन सबका नाम क्रमशः लेना चाहिए।
9. फिर निम्न मंत्र से पुष्पांजलि अर्पण करें-
'प्रणमे देव जननी त्वया जातस्तु वामनः।
वसुदेवात तथा कृष्णो नमस्तुभ्यं नमो नमः।
सुपुत्रार्घ्यं प्रदत्तं में गृहाणेमं नमोऽस्तुते।'
10. अंत में प्रसाद वितरण कर भजन-कीर्तन करते हुए रतजगा करें।
जन्माष्टमी के व्रत में जप करने के संबंध ऐसा बताया जाता है कि इस दिन किया गया जप अनंत गुना फल देता है। उसमें भी जन्माष्टमी की पूरी रात, जागरण करके जप-ध्यान का विशेष महत्व है। अगर आप भी जन्माष्टमी धूमधाम से मनाते हैं तो पूरी रात जागरण करके भगवान कृष्ण के भजन करने चाहिए।
how to do fasting
1. This day is celebrated as Krishna Janmashtami or Janmashtami. On this day men and women keep fast till 12 o'clock in the night. On this day, tableaux are decorated in the temples and Lord Krishna is offered a swing.
2. Eat light food on the night before fasting and observe celibacy.
3. On the day of fasting, take bath early in the morning and retire from routine activities.
After saluting the Sun, Soma, Yama, Kaal, Sandhi, Bhoot, Pawan, Dikpati, Bhumi, Akash, Khechar, Amar and Brahma and sit facing east or north.
4. After this, take water, fruit, kush and smell and make a resolution-

5. Now take a bath with black sesame water at midday and fix a 'Sutika Griha' for Devkiji.
6. After that install the idol or picture of Lord Shri Krishna.
The idol should have Devaki breast-feeding the child Shri Krishna and Lakshmiji touching his feet or such expressions.
8. After this, worship according to the law.
The names of Devaki, Vasudeva, Baldev, Nanda, Yashoda and Lakshmi should be taken in the worship respectively.
9. Then offer wreath with the following mantra-
Praname Dev Janani Tvaya Jatastu Vamanah.
Vasudevat and Krishna Namastubhyam Namo Namah.
In the suputarghyam pradattam grihaanema namostute.'
10. In the end, after distributing prasad, do Ratjaga while doing Bhajan-Kirtan.
Regarding chanting during Janmashtami fast, it is said that chanting done on this day gives infinite number of results. In that too, the whole night of Janmashtami, chanting and meditation has special significance. If you also celebrate Janmashtami with pomp, then you should do bhajans of Lord Krishna after awakening all night.
